Gary R. Newkirk, M.D., Program Director, Clinical Professor University of Washington School of Medicine, Department of Family Medicine. ABFP certified. Both Family Medicine Spokane and Family Medicine Spokane Rural Training Track operate under the program directorship of Dr. Newkirk. Along with all Family Medicine Spokane faculty, Dr. Newkirk presents didactics at the RTT sites.

Robert K. Maudlin, Pharm.D., Assistant Program Director FMS and FMSRTT, Clinical Professor University of Washington School of Medicine, Department of Family Medicine. Dr. Maudlin is responsible for the administrative leadership of the Family Medicine Spokane Rural Training Track. Each rural site has a coordinator who is responsible to Dr. Maudlin for the implementation of the residency program.

Michael D. Snook, M.D., Clinical Associate Professor University of Washington School of Medicine, Department of Family Medicine. ABFP certified. Dr. Snook was the Site Coordinator at the Colville RTT until 2008, and now remains active as teaching faculty. He is a graduate of the University of Washington School of Medicine and a 1982 graduate of Family Medicine Spokane Family Practice residency program. Mike has practiced in Colville for since 1982. He has hosted numerous medical educators at the Colville site providing valuable assistance to other developing rural training programs.

Samuel A. Artzis, M.D., Clinical Instructor University of Washington School of Medicine, Department of Family Medicine. ABFP certified. Dr. Artzis became the Site Coordinator at the Colville RTT in 2008.  Dr. Artzis is a graduate of Creighton Medical School and a 1994 graduate of Family Medicine Spokane Rural Training Track in Colville. Sam practiced in Hardin, Montana for three years prior to joining NorthEast Washington Medical Group. Sam enjoys boating, water-skiing, and the lakes of Eastern Washington.

Barry J. Bacon, M.D., Clinical Instructor University of Washington School of Medicine, Department of Family Medicine. ABFP certified. Dr. Bacon graduated from Loma Linda Medical School and has been practicing in Colville for 14 years. He is an active member of the community and spends time helping Habitat for Humanity. He also volunteers for short-term overseas medical missions. He enjoys spending time with his family, gardening, music, birdwatching, sports, and carpentry.

Angela Ball Buxton, M.D., Clinical Instructor University of Washington School of Medicine, Department of Family Medicine. ABFP certified. Dr. Ball graduated from University of Washington Medical School, completed her residency in 1992 at Family Medicine Spokane, joined the Colville group that same year, and completed additional training in high risk obstetrics. Angie enjoys teaching, her family, and the Colville community.

William J. Doyle, M.D., Clinical Instructor University of Washington School of Medicine, Department of Family Medicine. ABFP certified. Dr. Doyle is a graduate of Creighton Medical School and has been practicing in Colville since 1966. 'Jake' enjoys precepting at the family practice center in Spokane, teaching residents, and is an avid outdoorsman and fisherman.

April S. Hume, M.D., Clinical Instructor University of Washington School of Medicine, Department of Family Medicine. ABFP certified. Dr. Hume is a University of Washington Medical School graduate and completed her Family Medicine residency program with FMSRTT in Colville in June 2006 and has joined the faculty of NorthEast Washington Medical Group.  Dr. Hume was raised in Chewelah and will be practicing broad spectrum family medicine.

Edward D. Johnson, M.D., Clinical Instructor University of Washington School of Medicine, Department of Family Medicine. ABFP certified. Dr. Johnson is a University of Washington Medical School graduate and completed his Family Practice residency program with FMSRTT in Colville in 1999. Ed and his wife are from Eastern Washington and most happy to living and practicing in the Colville area. He looks forward to teaching, especially procedures.

Deborah A. Montowski, M.D., Clinic Instructor University of Washington School of Medicine, Department of Family Medicine. ABFP certified. Dr. Montowski graduated from the University of Kentucky and completed her Family Practice residency program in Pocatello, Idaho. She has special interests in women's health care including obstetrical care and surgical deliveries. We are excited to add her to our practice and faculty.

Dan W. Moullet, M.D., Clinical Instructor University of Washington School of Medicine, Department of Family Medicine. ABFP certified. Dr. Moullet is a University of Nevada Medical School graduate and completed his Family Practice residency program with FMSRTT in Colville in 1997. Dan and his family settled into the Colville community and remained. A former teacher, Dan enjoys the role of teaching and medicine.

Patrick J. Shannon, M.D., Clinical Instructor University of Washington School of Medicine, Department of Family Medicine. ABFP certified. Dr. Shannon completed the University of Washington Medical School and graduated from Family Medicine Spokane in 1984. He practiced in Ritzville, Washington for three years prior to moving to Colville. Pat enjoys playing basketball and helps his wife raise horses.

Leslie E. Waters, M.D., Clinical Instructor University of Washington School of Medicine, Department of Family Medicine. ABFP certified. Dr. Waters has been a member of the group since 1988. Leslie received her Medical Degree from the University of North Carolina. Her areas of interest are Women's Health, Obstetrics, Pediatrics and Menopause Medicine. Leslie enjoys reading, hiking, skiing, and she sings and plays guitar in a performing group.
